Prepare applications for a new team
Choose the platform, find the app in the catalog and check its name and developer. Assign it to a small pilot group first, review the available installation status, then assign it to the remaining devices.
Practical questions
Is adding an app the same as installing it?
No. A catalog entry identifies an application. An assignment defines its recipients. Installation is a separate device-side step and depends on connectivity and platform requirements.
What should I check for Apple applications?
Check platform compatibility, the App Store region and the licensing or distribution requirements for your enrollment scenario. Managed distribution may require Apple Business Manager configuration and available licenses.
What if the app has not appeared?
Check the target group, the device’s recent contact and available assignment status. A saved assignment should not be treated as proof of completed installation.
